1.1 What Throwcast is for
The working loop is short: put a screen in the room, put a projector in front of it, and read the numbers. Everything else in this manual — blend arrays, the heatmap, cables, trays, racks and reports — hangs off that loop.
Three properties are worth knowing before you start:
- The scene is real. Distances are metres, angles are degrees, and illuminance is lux. Nothing is nominal or “to scale”.
- Nothing is baked. Metrics and the heatmap recompute as you drag. There is no render step to wait for.
- Derived beats stored. Wherever the software can work something out from geometry — which trays connect, which projectors sit next to each other in a blend, which devices are in a diagram section — it does, rather than storing a link that could go stale.
