2.2 The five modes
| Mode | What it is |

| 3D | The live venue with every overlay. Where placement happens. |
| Device | The library workshop: what a machine is, rather than where it is. It replaces both side panels. |
| Diagram | The same rig drawn as a 2D signal schematic. Fully controlled from the project — it is a second view of the same data, not a separate drawing. |
| Racks | Front elevations of your rack enclosures, with a palette of devices to mount. |
| Report | A sheet of paper you arrange content blocks on. One of those blocks is a frozen 3D view, and opening it binds the same live viewport to it, letterboxed to the block’s rectangle. |
Which mode you had open is not saved with the project — it is session state. Undo and redo work in every mode.
