2.2 The five modes

Table 2.1 What each mode is for.
ModeWhat it is
3DThe live venue with every overlay. Where placement happens.
DeviceThe library workshop: what a machine is, rather than where it is. It replaces both side panels.
DiagramThe same rig drawn as a 2D signal schematic. Fully controlled from the project — it is a second view of the same data, not a separate drawing.
RacksFront elevations of your rack enclosures, with a palette of devices to mount.
ReportA sheet of paper you arrange content blocks on. One of those blocks is a frozen 3D view, and opening it binds the same live viewport to it, letterboxed to the block’s rectangle.

Which mode you had open is not saved with the project — it is session state. Undo and redo work in every mode.
